Focus Group Researh

Our focus group watched two hip-hop genre music videos:

• Jay-Z - Roc Boys (2000s)
• A Tribe Called Quest - Can I Kick It? (1990s)

They were then asked to give their thought on the two videos.

N.B. The third interviewee was shown the videos in the wrong order (A Tribe Called Quest was shown first and Jay-Z second)

This is our workshop for Depth of Field. This is because we had noticed the effect from our research and textual analysis and wanted to implement this effectively in our video, so we decided to experiment this in our video.

Official approval from T-Truth!

It's now official, we have been sent a written approval from T-Truth himself (here) for our hip-hop music video project, which will use his soundtrack 'My Own'. The aim of our project will be to pay homage to 1990s hip-hop culture while examining the history of hip-hop music over the last few decades. Hopefully him and all his fans will enjoy what we've got planned!
